Huge Earthquake hits Christchurch

Today a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit Christchuch. the earthquake was very shallow at only 5km deep.

Reading Outside

Today we did our Reading outside. It was a lovely sunny morning so we read our book outside.

Mystery Reader

On Friday we had our first mystery reader for the year. We did not know who was coming to read to us. After play Mr Petersen our principal came into read to us. He read us 'Smelly Berty' by David Roberts. It is about Bertie and how he pops off. He makes it clear that he is not the only one who does this. We thought this was a very funny story that Mr Petersen read us. Thanks Mr Petersen. We wonder who will be our mystery reader this week.

Ordering Numbers

We learnt a new maths game. We got into 2 teams and we had to pick up a number, run down to the blank number line and place our number on it in the right order.

Week 3 Big Question

Sandpit

Today we built sandcastles, dug big holes and made volcanoes. We had a lot of fun.

Colours in Maori

We are learning the colours in Maori.

Go-Cart Racing

Today we went and had races on the go-carts. We had a lot of fun. We then went and wrote about our go-cart races.

W.A.L.T. count backwards from 10. We are using the song ten in the bed to help us count backwards from 10.
We started to make rockets to show what number we can count backwards from.
